This activity is jointly provided by Medical Education Resources and AAMSTarget AudienceThis activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of all disciplines involved in the care of patients in the critical care transport in both hospital and independent provider facilities.
Program OverviewThe Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) is an internationally recognized, annual educational meeting and trade show dedicated to improving the quality of emergency medical transport. Our event in Columbus will facilitate a lively exchange of information to help medical transport professionals respond to constantly changing patient needs, and promotes industry advancement through adaptation to new technologies.
Attendees of AMTC are emergency medical and critical care professionals from both hospital and independent providers of air and ground medical transport services—CEOs, program directors, medical directors, physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, paramedics, pilots, communication specialists, Part 135 operators and aircraft manufacturers.
All disciplines of the emergency medical transport industry are reflected in the content created for the meeting. Content includes information on clinical practice, patient quality and safety, pilot and clinical crew safety, program administration and leadership, workforce strategies, mental health and wellness, clinical professional development strategies, comms and operations center best practices and hands-on clinical labs.
Educational ObjectivesAfter completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Apply new safety concepts and protocols into existing air medical/EMS transport programs.
- Identify the knowledge and competencies required for air medical programs to provide appropriate patient care at altitude and in the transport environment.
- Describe communication processes and procedures for improved practice into existing air medical/EMS transport programs.
- Discuss public relations, diversity initiatives, regulatory guidelines and legal issues affecting the air medical services community.
- Integrate the assessment and care of patients with guidelines and protocols of a wide range of diseases and traumatic injuries.
