Often, new employee onboarding involves a formalized orientation period with a concrete end date when that new person is considered "off orientation." It is not uncommon for those employees to feel that they are still underprepared, leading them to feel disengaged in their positions, which can impact turnover and workplace culture. Designing long-term mentorships for new employees can improve employee engagement, buy-in, and performance. This talk will discuss the needs for such mentorship and how to gauge the success of your program.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the needs of your organization's newly hired employees.
Compare and contrast orientation vs. mentorship
Measure the success of your ongoing mentorship programs
