This presentation will discuss the development and implementation of a simulation-based education program to assess and improve knowledge, self-competency, and performance of critical care neonatal and pediatric transport team members. It will specifically use the data/results obtained from the implementation of this type of education program in a hospital-based transport team.

  • Describe the need and literature related to development of standardized transport education.
  • Outline the steps to develop a simulation-based education program for critical care transport team members.
  • Identify a sustainability plan for continued simulation-based education.
