Nicholas George is an EMS Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in Pittsburgh, PA, and a flight physician with STAT MedEvac. He received his BS in Biochemistry from Loyola University Maryland and his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his emergency medicine residency at UPMC in 2022, serving as chief resident in his final year. His EMS career began at 16 years old as a volunteer EMT in New Jersey. He now serves as an assistant medical director for the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS and Fayette EMS. He is passionate about all things HEMS and has completed secondments with Essex and Herts Air Ambulance in the United Kingdom and University of Wisconsin MedFlight. He also serves as the program director for the ETHOS Database, a product of the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS). In his free time, he enjoys hiking with his dog, Tula, and trying to identify the model of helicopter flying overhead.
