Andrea began her nursing career in Texas as a pediatric intensive care nurse before transitioning to working as a neonatal and pediatric critical care transport nurse. She then moved to Seattle to continue working as a critical care transport nurse with Seattle Children’s Hospital transport team. Combining her interests in critical care transport and enhancing patient care, she enrolled in a Clinical Nurse Specialist DNP program at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing in 2019. While in school, she completed an integrative review related to improving the knowledge of critical care transport team members and implemented her DNP project based on the findings in this review. She obtained her doctorate degree in May 2023 and now works as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Seattle Children's Hospital with an advanced practice license.
