Archana Dhar, M.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric critical care and her area of interest is extracorporeal therapies such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
Dr. Dhar earned her medical degree at B. J. Medical College in Gujarat, India, where she also completed a residency in pediatrics. She completed an additional residency in pediatrics at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center and gained advanced training through a fellowship in pediatric critical care at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics and pediatric critical care, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2008. She is a clinician educator and teaches the entire spectrum of trainees from medical students to fellows and conducts workshops and training courses to teach the basics of extracorporeal therapies to board certified physicians.
Dr. Dhar is the Medical Director of Transport and Access Center for the Children’s Health system.
She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
In 2020 and 2022, Dr. Dhar was voted Best Pediatric Specialist by D Magazine.
