L.T. began his EMS career in Boulder, Colorado in 1992, and his passion for prehospital medicine and outstanding patient care quickly led him to Seattle where he has held various positions along the emergency continuum – from 911 dispatcher to firefighter/EMT, from emergency room technician to critical care transport nurse. L.T. has degrees from the American College of Prehospital Medicine, Shoreline Community College, University of Phoenix, and the University of Arizona. His hospital nursing background is in pediatric and neonatal critical care with the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital.

L.T. was born with cerebral palsy, a neurologic disorder that causes muscle spasticity and motor difficulties. He has learned to use positive thinking, dogged determination, and a healthy dose of self-deprecating humor to accomplish his personal and professional goals despite challenges. L.T. is a former competitive archer, uses Pilates practice/training to improve and maintain his flexibility and mobility, and is a student of Kenpo karate.

L.T. currently works as the Pediatric Assistant Chief Flight Nurse with Airlift Northwest, part of the UW Medicine system in Seattle.
