Ira Blumen, MD

Ira Blumen has been involved in HEMS since 1985 and has been the UCAN program/medical director since 1987. He is the editor of the AMPA textbook “Principles and Direction of Air Medical Transport.” Since 2000, he has been a leader in HEMS safety research and provides annual updates at AMTC. Dr. Blumen has held numerous leadership positions in air medical transport and has received several safety awards. He is frequent lecturer and has published dozens of articles and chapters. His HEMS safety presentations including AMTC 2002, AMTC 2003, CCTMC 2003, AMTC 2005-2020 and more. Relative to this presentation, he is the initiator of the research project and lead researcher.
